Dominion

Thank You, LORD GOD, in the Mighty Name of Jesus, who is the source of my provision, wisdom, inspiration, insights, all things good, and every spiritual blessing under Heaven, Amen. Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; and His faithful love endures forever. – [1 Chronicles 16:34 NLT] Thank You, LORD GOD, in the Mighty Name of Jesus, for the healing and restoration of communities and nations.

And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven? – Luke 16:11 NLT

Dominion includes:

  • stewardship
  • relationships
  • health
  • finances
  • environment and nature (all of Creation)
  • resources

Adam and Eve (humankind the way God created us) had dominion over all of Creation. Dominion is the authority to reign over all of Creation. Dominion includes stewardship over our relationships, our health, our finances, environment and nature (all of Creation), and all our resources.

Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.” – Genesis 1:26 NLT

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” – Genesis 1:26 NKJV

Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” – Genesis 1:28 NKJV

Adam and Eve lost their ability to reign over all of Creation, when they sinned and ate the forbidden fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. All of humankind inherited the same fate of Adam and Eve in their fallen state.

But the Lord God warned him, “You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden—except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die.” – Genesis 2:16-17 NLT

Jesus Christ, with the finished work on the cross, redeemed all of Creation, paid the full ransom for us, so that when we believed, we regained our original and new found dominion over all of Creation.

I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life. – 1 John 5:13 NLT

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! – 2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT

So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free. – John 8:36 NLT

Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen. – Ephesians 3:20-21 NLT

Jesus is the Highest Name, the Name that is Above all other names. At the Name of Jesus, every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord. There is no other name, but the Name of Jesus, given to humankind so that we can be saved.

Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor
and gave him the name above all other names,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father. – Philippians 2:9-11 NLT
