The Second Coming

(a chapter from my book, Facing Change)

The second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ in scripture, in the context of the past, present and future, from age to age.

[Luke 17:22 NASB]

[2 Thessalonians 2:1 NLT]

[Matthew 16:27 NASB]

[Daniel 7:13 NASB]

[Matthew 26:64 NASB]

[Revelation 1:7 NLT]

[Matthew 24:30 NASB]

[Daniel 9:24-27 NLT]

The second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is to rule and reign, as in Revelation 21 and Revelation 22.

The reference point is the crucifixion of Christ at approximately 30 A.D., assuming the birth of Christ at 1 A.D. Present-day astronomical projections estimate that the Star of Bethlehem was observed to appear in 6 B.C. Thus, this is the approximate year of Christ’s birth. So, adjusting the crucifixion of Christ by 6 years to 24 A.D, we have the following rough and quick calculations from Daniel 9:26 NLT:

62 x 7 years = 424 years.

424 – 24 = 400 years. This is the inter-testamental period.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Thank You, Abba Father, Lord Jesus Christ.

When Satan was in Heaven as Lucifer, God laid out the plans for the Old Testament. This was before Satan was thrown out of Heaven, and he took one-third of the angels with him. Satan has no idea about the detailed plans of the New Testament.

For example, Satan knew exactly when Moses would come. That is why Moses was born into an infanticide. [Exodus 1:22 NLT, Exodus 2:1-3 NLT] However, the birth of Jesus was secret. Satan only knew about the birth of Jesus when the three wise men visited Jerusalem asking about the newborn king of the Jews, citing they had sighted the Star of Bethlehem. [Matthew 2:1-8 NLT]

May the grace and peace of Abba Father the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

Thank You, Abba Father, Lord Jesus Christ.

In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
