(a chapter from the section, Foundations, of my book, Heaven on Earth)
As a human being and a uniquely created person on earth, as with every single other person, I am at my most creative and resourceful when I am praising and giving honor to God. That’s the way every single human being is created to be. God has put eternity in our hearts. We are all created in God’s image. We all respond creatively to the Creator. When God is in the first place in our lives, we are at our most human and our most pure. We experience our highest ecstasies and ascend the natural and realize the miraculous breakthrough power of the supernatural. We see what God sees, and we feel what God feels. He calls us best friends. In spending time in the glory and the presence of God, I get my most powerful insights and I see with the greatest clarity. In spending time with God, I allow Jesus to emerge and I realize my full human potential. I realize my true identity – who I am. I realize my true purpose – what am I created for. I realize my true destiny – where am I going. It is the same with every single human being. It does not mean that I am perfect. No, far from it, but I can make mistakes safely and there is a safety cushion when I fall.
That is what I mean when I say “receiving the goodness of God” and “God is always good”. God always has our best interests at heart. He wants what is best for us. As we are all unique, we should never follow the crowd. We are never meant to be a carbon copy or clone of the next person. That does not mean that we cannot learn from one another or from our parents. Honor our parents, the Bible advises. But there comes a time when we have to learn to be ourselves, be able to make our own decisions and live our own lives. There comes a time when everything boils down to just between me and God.
Without God, we constantly seek counterfeit replacements such as sex, drugs or alcohol. They never quite satisfy the void within the human soul that was meant for God alone. Instead, they lead to destruction, disease, decay and death.
May the grace and peace of Abba Father the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
