As a leader, we are heading somewhere into the future. As a team, we get there together. Make sure everybody in the team is on the ball and collaborating together before we head off into the distance.
Getting somewhere as a team requires us to keep everyone on the team abreast on the progress of the whole team. This is a good exercise for the leader because it makes the leader aware whether one’s team is following closely behind. It requires the leader to set a comfortable but stimulating pace for oneself and for one’s team, keeping everybody close together.
