Introduction

(a chapter from the section, Inspire the Future, of my book, Heaven on Earth)

In a globalized world where change is a constant, we look for the pivot points around which change revolves. I think it is currently a tough environment for individuals and businesses unaccustomed to change. Constant change, if unanchored, frequently feels like shifting quicksand under one’s feet. Fierce competition in a globalized business environment often drives change for individuals and businesses. Individuals have to survive and businesses have to survive. This constant fight to survive frequently drives individuals and businesses, communities and nations into situations of social injustice, if they are unanchored against the rising tide of human variables foisted upon a hungry planet striving to find its own way out of a deep mess.

Never before have we ever experienced such levels of prosperity; And yet, never before have we ever experienced such levels of social injustice, both on a global and on a local scale. We have huge numbers of human population barely surviving in war-ravaged countries, scraping in the dust for food and clean water. We also have huge numbers of human-trafficked women and children barely surviving in sex slavery in various countries, both rich and poor. In a modern 21st century planet earth where clean water runs from taps and electricity is turned on by the press of a button, we also encounter these vast dichotomies between cultures and nations.

Planet earth is also groaning under the demands of (currently) 6.8 billion people and a projected 9 billion people by the year 2050. We are barely coping with 6.8 billion people. What happens when we get to 9 billion people?

How do we propose to overcome these overwhelming odds? How does one eat an elephant? One bite at a time. This book does not propose to give exact formulas or answers. I am hoping that this book will inspire answers and solutions in your mind as we travel the journey through each chapter. I am hoping that this book will inspire the future for both the eastern and the western world that is both practical and life-changing.

May the grace and peace of Abba Father the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
