The Name of Jesus

(a chapter from my book, Facing Change)

Revelation 5 NLT describes the Lamb as the only one worthy of breaking the scroll’s seven seals. The Book of Revelation describes many turbulent and apocalyptic events. Still, amidst the turbulence, God’s people shall continue to praise God with new songs. We shall continue to praise the Name of Jesus, for He is worthy. With His blood, He ransomed people for God from every tribe and people and language and nation. Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered—to receive power, riches, wisdom, strength, honour, glory, and blessing. [Revelation 5:1-14 NLT]

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Thank You, Abba Father, Lord Jesus Christ.

This is the conversation that I am having with Abba Father.

Abba Father: “Do you remember when I taught you about the name of Jesus?”

Word Sabre: “Lord, You asked me if I could figure out who the name of Jesus was referring to in the English Bible(s).”

Here is my answer.

Jesus is the name of the Son. In Hebrew, Jesus is Yeshua, the Lord who saves us. He is named after the Father, who demonstrates His likeness to the Father through His birth, life, death, and resurrection. After Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection, Abba Father takes the name of Jesus (Yeshua in Hebrew) to honour His Son for what He has done.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Thank You, Abba Father, Lord Jesus Christ.

The Name of Jesus

Adam was created in the image of God
Eve was created from Adam’s rib
They ate the fruit from the middle of the garden
Together they fell, took humankind with them

Jesus was created in the image of God
He is God’s Son, He did not sin
He is victorious and conquered death
Provided Salvation for humankind

Savior of the World, You are Hope
Author of Life, You are Life
King of kings and Lord of lords
Prince of Peace for all mankind

Jesus is the right hand of God the Father
Father takes the name of His Son, Jesus
The Name that is above all Names
To show the world what He has done

May the grace and peace of Abba Father the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

Thank You, Abba Father, Lord Jesus Christ.

In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
