(a chapter from my book, Facing Change)
In the world, many people might believe that money is the primary currency of life. Insufficient money can make life seem hellish and full of stress. At the other extreme, the love of money is root to all kinds of evil. However, sufficient money may help ease one of the tensions of life. However, money is not the primary currency of life. The root currency of life is wisdom. God had a conversation with Solomon at the beginning of his reign. When God asked Solomon for what he needed, he asked for the wisdom to lead God’s people. And God gave Solomon wisdom. And with wisdom, Solomon also received wealth. [1 Kings 3:5-12 NIV]
Where, then, does wisdom come from? Where does understanding dwell? [Job 28:20 NIV] God understands the way to it, and he alone knows where it dwells, for He views the ends of the earth and sees everything under the heavens. When He established the force of the wind and measured out the waters when He made a decree for the rain and a path for the thunderstorm, then He looked at wisdom and appraised it; He confirmed it and tested it. And He said to man, ‘The fear of the Lord—that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.’ “[Job 28:23-28 NIV] The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow His precepts have good understanding. To Him belongs eternal praise. [Psalm 111:10 NIV]
In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Thank You, Abba Father, Lord Jesus Christ.
Wisdom
Those who love Wisdom
Will eat from the Tree of Life
Who’s wealth is more precious than rubies
Who’s treasures are richer than gold
You created Wisdom before You created the world
With Wisdom You laid the Earth’s foundation
Lord Jesus Christ,
You are the Wisdom of God and the Power of God
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
May I love You all my days
May I serve You with every breath
Praise and Worship You
Honor Your every Word
You breathe Life into dead things
Out of nothing, You create everything
You pour Your Love into empty hearts
Out of the desert, springs can flow
